displacements: an x’scape journal is an architectural & editorial project born out of the research led since 2009 in the Landscape LAB at the Master in Advanced Architectural Projects (MPAA) and the Cultural Landscape Research Group of the ETSAM School of Architecture in Madrid.
A tool, displacements, to broaden the scope of a dialogue that might help us face in an integrated, situated and transdisciplinar way the two essential aspects of any critical practice: knowledge and action. A concept, x'scape, that allows us to move between space read as inert scenario in which life unfolds and lived and practiced space understood as a common production or multiple corporeality crossed by political, social, imaginary, ecological... dimensions.
displacements is soliciting essays ranging from 2000 to 5000 words, cartographic and mapping works, projects, or any other editable formats (video, audio, and other non-printable formats are welcomed as well). Graphic-based submissions will be accompanied by a text (minimum 500 words). Submissions must be previously unpublished and sent in complete form with a short bio of the author or authors.
