A Crime of Multitudes: the Okupation Facing Power

Contemporary social revolutions, in contrast to their predecessors, are germinated in the Internet through social networks and any other platform we are in touch with in a direct and immediate way, but all these revolutions need the link of space to exist. When these manifes- tations are materialized, there is a great energy conformed as multiple bodies and in this spatial ecstasy, they blur the limits between the public and private, where legality is involved and conflict goes to an intermittent state. In a brief reflection of Christopher Nolan movie, The Dark Knight Rises, we approach to the conflict of the revolutionary act as a politic-ideology offensive, a “popular” fight where the desire of justice invades the established limits, and in this defiant act of manifested movements as Occupy Wall Street, it resonates in a different place thanks to the energy acted in the revolutionary practice.

Las revoluciones sociales contemporáneas, que a diferencia de sus predecesoras, son germinadas en internet por medio de redes sociales y cualquier plataforma que tenemos al alcance de nuestras manos de manera inmediata y directa, necesitan del vínculo del lugar para existir. Cuando las multitudes se materializan, hay una cantidad de energía concentrada como cuerpos múltiples y que en ese éxtasis espacial, di- fuminan los límites entre lo público y lo privado, donde la legalidad entra en juego y el conflicto pasa a un estado intermitente. En un breve reflejo de la película de Christopher Nolan, The Dark Knight Rises, nos aproximamos al conflicto del acto revolucionario como ofensiva político-ideológica, una lucha “popular” en el que el deseo de justicia invade límites establecidos, y en ese acto de desafío de movimientos manifestados como Occupy Wall Street, resuenan en un lugar diferente gracias la energía puesta en la práctica revolucionaria.
